As a future computer programmer it makes total sense to find a language or set of languages that are in need and will be desired by future employers. Because of this the perfect choice is to focus my energy on learning HTML5 and CSS3. While there are many great languages out there, these two are so beneficial in today’s market, primarily for two reasons: they are updated for maximum effectiveness, and they were designed to be used together, adding great functionality to the both of them. The first thing to understand is that these two languages was built to be integrated with one another. When it was first developed its purpose was to give standard webpages more pizzazz and with the new generation of HTML, CSS has grown with it. CSS3 is even simpler to use than previous versions, and provides greater flexibility, especially for use with HTML5 (Clarity 2014). CSS3 was specifically created to add functions not realized in previous versions of the language or by HTML. Gradients, box shadows, and corner radius are new features that allow developers to make small changes that enhance the overall look of the site. In addition, these are much cleaner codes to add, which do not increase the load time of the site at all. It still gets the great design without adding any time the user had to wait to see them. In fact, the improvements to CSS3 have been shown to actually decrease the download time as compared to pages built in other coding languages (Quora). A person can learn a lot of languages and probably find a need out there, but learning these two helps a developer to be able to build incredible looking and acting websites that fits the needs and desires of consumers and businesses.
