The book “Finding Audrey” written by Sophia Kinsella is a romantic comedy fiction about 14 year old Audrey Turner. After being the victim of bullying from three other girls at school, Audrey’s life turns upside down as she becomes ill with social anxiety disorder. With the help of her loving family, helpful therapist, and her kind and gentle friend Linus, Audrey no longer finds herself hiding in the shadows of the dark, instead fighting to show her true colours and to break free. Firstly, the book mainly takes place at Audrey’s house as she is the main character and spends most if not all her time there. Audrey is a 14 year old girl struggling with social anxiety disorder after being bullied at school. Audrey is around 6ft tall with long dark brown hair, a beautiful smile, and kind pale blue eyes that she hides behind dark glasses. Audrey is strong, courageous, kind, sensitive, thoughtful, scared, and witty. She talks kindly with her family, therapist, and soon Linus, but struggles to talk and interact with others. She feels like she is nothing due to the hurtful comments of the three girls that bullied her. She wants everything to change and to be normal like before, and perserveres to overcome her fears. She doesn’t want to run whenever someone greets her. She doesn’t want to stay afraid. She wants to find herself. She is special because of her strength, charm and love. She wants to see everyone happy and has been through so much in her life. She is funny, different and unique. Audrey is someone I would personally want to know based on what I have read and my personal expereiences because she is inspiring. She is strong, considerate, and different.
