I agree that officers have a stressful and demanding job. I think that the police needs to know how the community and the board sees them. Sometimes the truth hurts and in this case it may but they need to know. I think your idea on having officers at community events is a great idea. Showing that the officers care makes the community respect their authority more.

Symbolism is a notable feature in Catching Fire. Through symbolism , Suzanne Collins manages to paint Katniss as the ultimate embodiment of rebellion through transferring her into a mockingjay . " A mockingjay is a creature the Capitol never intended to exist"(92), as it is a result of the Capitol's usage of the japperjays which were sent to spy on the rebels. However, the japperjays failed in their mission so the Capitol left them to die ,but they managed to survive through mating to female mockingbirds . This proves that the existence of the mockingjays is an act of rebellion in itself , an act of defiance excuted by the Capitol's own invention , long before Katniss has been born. .

Firefighters have not always had the level of safety of today’s turnout gear. Historically, most firefighters fought fires from the outside and rarely entered the burning structure. Initially, firefighter's clothing was more for warmth and dryness than for protection from fire. In the early 1800’s felt caps were worn more for decoration than functional use and provided the firefighter with little to no head protection. In 1830, Henry Gratacap, a volunteer firefighter in New York City, invented the earliest version of the modern firefighter helmet.

They are required to keep a level head on every call they respond to no matter the situation. A Firefighter’s lifestyle generally revolves around working 24hrs on and 48hrs off. INTRODUCTION Gender inclusivity has become an important aspect of today’s society with a greater push than ever before to bring more women into the workforce and have them being treated as equals. This push has resulted in more women than men graduating with college degrees, the military lifting barriers on women being involved in direct ground combat, and the recent passing of California’s Fair Pay Act. The California Fair Pay Act bars employers from setting wages for any of its employees at rates lower than those paid to employees of the opposite sex for similar work—not only for equal work—and applies to people who work at different offices for the same employer (Vara, 2015). However, despite the recent successes and advances women have enjoyed within the workforce as a whole, the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics found that women accounted for only 5.7% of all career firefighters in 2014, which is less than half the next closest
