The 1st amendment includes freedom of religion, speech, assembly, freedom of the press, and freedom to petition. As you can see there is a big effect that the amendment has on the American people. Without these freedoms our country would not be what it is today. Before these rights came to be, the people were not given freedom to choose what they believe in.
