The Hadith was written during the 6th and 7th century and was created primarily for the purpose of helping Islamic believers better understand their religion. Although the Hadith contains useful guidelines, such as the five pillars, they are simply just that, guidelines, not rules. It is never truly revealed how one should conduct themselves, or what rules they should follow. The closest passage that resembles a rule is in the 6th verse of the Hadith, “he who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his religion and his honor, but he who falls into doubtful matters falls into that which is unlawful.” (4) While it is clear what is lawful and what is unlawful, it is never revealed what is “doubtful,” and therefore it should not be
