The Assemblies of God has been around since 1911, and two years ago celebrated its centennial anniversary. The first steps of the Assemblies of God in Brazil were on November of 1910, “the swedes Gunnar Vingren and Daniel Berg “(CGADB 1). Assemblies of God of Brazil, by the principles given in its 100 years as a denomination, since the arrival of two Swedish missionaries, have left an impact on Brazil. Gunnar Vingren and Daniel Berg, baptized by the Holy Spirit, arrived to Belem do Para, on the road Siqueria Mendes, 67, in the city of Belem on the 19th of November of 1910 (CGADB 1). After that meeting, the Assemblies of God convention was again apprehended in April of 1923, in Rio de Janeiro. Many pioneers made significant sacrifices to spread the gospel in Brazil. These pioneers were missionaries that came from Canada, Sweden and the United States after that Holy Spirit Revival (also known as the Azusa Street Revival), that left people wanting more ( David Ellis 2). Several of them served for more than 50 years. Missionaries would find different ways to spread the Gospel and evangelize, by different fellowships. These fellowships grew from door to door witnessing evangelism crusades and church plantings (World AG 3). After Gunnar Vingren and Daniel Berg, the next missionary to arrive in Brazil was Gustav Bergstrom. Gustav Bergstrom went to Brazil in 1933. “Within six years he had independently planted more churches in southern Brazil than the Assemblies of God had in northern Brazil “(World AG 5).
