According to the recent study, by 2040 there will be no enough water for the global people. In the Guns, Germs, Steel episode 1, in New Guinea, there was a time where they should move around all the time because they did not have any food or the water. Which is analogous to food and water shortage those refugees are going through right now. There has been a lot of food and water shortage for all people, particularly refugees, and refugees in Syria have felt a major impact as a result of these shortages.

So they decided to leave Syria. Even though all the houses were destroyed and nothing was left, the refugees carried the water, food and valuable things. They were trying their best to reach the limit of the weight that they can carry. With the heavy burden, they walked to the port. The time when refugees arrive at the port, they could not enter the burden that they were carrying, because if they ride on the boat with the burden, others cannot aboard. It was too late to walk or use a car, and it was easy to get caught when they were using the car. However, after throwing away the burden that they have, they only have absurdly little food and water to survive before the boat arrives at the another country. Before the boat arrives at the land, the food and the water have been eaten. Therefore, the famine starts. Somehow when the boat arrives at the land, refugees request for the rescue. But if the country rejects the refugees, they cannot even live in this country. Also, the refugees had lost everything in the civil war, they do not have necessities of life: clothing, food, and shelter. So they do not even have food to eat.
