Abstract The Israeli Palestinian conflict is one of the notorious conflicts in modern history with no signs of ending in the near future. Fueled by the expansion of Israeli territories as well as its policies on the same into the Palestinian territories, the conflict has escalated to mass murders and other atrocities that have spanned for decades. This occupation has come under criticism by many in the Arab world and the European Union. In the centuries long conflict, many lives of both civilians and soldiers have been lost with the ever increasing need for more land. During the course of the conflict, food has been used as both a mental weapon against the Palestinians and a unifying factor. This essay will analyze and shed light on ‘food’ as a weapon, a symbol of national identity and power in the Israeli and Palestinian nations.
