Kofi Annan 's essay about UN football, “Football Envy at the UN” is an analogical essay comparing the events and excitement of UN football to the more important world crisis countries do not pay as much attention to. On one hand Annan praises the talent and teamwork involved in football while on the other hand he expresses dissatisfaction to the low level of attention put in crisis around the world. Annan wishes the level of attention UN football receives would be put into problems around the world such as diseases, hunger, famine, and pollution. Annan also believes if the countries put in as much effort in world crisis than in football, we would be able to combat problems more efficiently.
