I have chosen to write a speech to reveal how in today 's world men are being oppressed and are being exploited by their female counterparts. It is based on Part 1 of the Literature and Language course. The speech is written assuming the persona of a man subservient to I just laws of the country and the stereotypes prevalent in the society.
The task I write is inspired by a Ted Talk: Men the Forgotten Gender by Deepika Bhardwaj. Taking an unconventional approach, she talks of how men are never considered as victims and are always portrayed as rapists or exploiters. Society easily conforms to what they see, without even looking and Bhardwaj explores this idea in depth.

Men are said to communicate with minimal responses; talkative men are considered abnormalities. Masculinity doesn 't line up with self-disclosure. When a man opens up, lets his feelings out, it is considered weird and 'feminine '. When a woman doesn 't open up, she is said to be made of 'strong fiber '. When a woman takes charge of a conversation, she is of tenacious substance. When a man doesn 't take charge of a conversation, he is but a coward. The male gender is commonly known to be less verbal aggressive due to their physical strength. Our community believes if something does not go a man 's way, we are obliged to use our bodily strength against the opposing force. This assumption leaves society to believe that us men will rape, thrash and hurt if anything goes wrong, it leaves society to believe we would rather beat a person up than converse through the situation, it leaves society to believe we don 't have enough intellect to talk this out so physical abuse would be our way out; this assumption leaves the male gender synonymous to that of a wild animal.
