The award of a formal research degree needs the student to satisfactorily complete an approved program of research under the guidance of a supervision team within a prescribed time period. A formal research degree include the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and the Master of Philosophy (MPhil). A research scholar can meet and work with some of the brightest people on the planet. They can seek for ideas beyond their grasp, and in so doing extend their intellectual capabilities. A researcher will be able to solve problems that have not been solved before. One can explore new concepts that have not been explored. PhD degree holders are able to teach at the university level as assistant, associate of full professors. Traditionally, the PhD degree was necessary to begin a career in academia; though not entirely true today, the degree is still generally a guarantee of an academic position at universities worldwide. Those in possession of a doctoral degree, can also expect higher pay both inside as well as outside of academia. As a whole the benefits of PhD Program can be listed as follows:
