As Francis Bacon wrote, “There is no loneliness sadder than a man without friends. The lack of friends makes the world seem a desert.” In the book Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, the creature is instituted into a world of loneliness and solitude. Victor, the scientist whom first created the creature, offers to create a female monster to be the creature’s companion, but later retaliates his decision and destroys the new body. Victor made the right decision when he dismantled the body because he was unsure of the consequences.
