Franklin Delano Roosevelt, better known today as FDR, was our 32nd President of the United States. FDR was remembered for leading America through the Great Depression and World War II. (Source B) He also assumed presidency during one of the worst times the United States has ever seen, the Great Depression. FDR’s main goal was to “help the American people regain faith in themselves.” (Source C) FDR was born January 30, 1882, in Hyde Park, New York to his parents James Roosevelt and Sara Ann Delano Roosevelt into a life of luxury. FDR was used to the luxurious environment by attending higher-class schools such as Harvard University and Columbia Law School. On March 17th, 1905, FDR married Eleanor Roosevelt.
