Franklin Delano Roosevelt, widely known as FDR, was without a doubt a remarkable man. He was a Democrat who did many things for America that keep an impact on us today. He was very ambitious and an all-around true leader. He had excellent communication skills and he showed that through his presidency. His incredible political knowledge gained him nationwide admirers. He did many things for the entire nation as President and was able to leave a long-lasting impression and mark of himself, all to be remembered for a lifetime. Franklin Delano Roosevelt was born on January 30, 1882 in Hyde Park, New York; which is in the Northwest part of Duchess County. He was born to his parents, James Roosevelt I and Sara Ann Delano. His mother had a difficult time during the birth of Franklin and because of that, he was an only child. Roosevelt was born into a higher privilege than most. In 1896, he attended Groton which was a Christian boarding school for boys in the upper class.
