Can society survive on hate? Society is surrounded by hate either it’s by social media or people itself. We can’t go anywhere without being judged for a certain thing about us. The world can be an ugly place. We can’t escape hate; we get that out in public or on the internet. If we live in a world with hate, how is that going to survive? Hate belittles a person, it can hurt others. Love is what can bring others together.
According to O’Brien in the book, 1984, Society can survive on hate. He said that society that had love disappeared. If the citizens are suffering in a community full of hate, then the community would not survive long. If we live in a community where there is love and everyone is nice to one another, then we build a stronger relationship with one another. Hate and suffering is not a healthy way to run a community. For example, in the book, 1984, no one is allowed to have partners or close friends, they can’t show affection to one another. The leaders might think it was making their community strong but their citizens were miserable and were turned in for having free thought. I believe power and victory will motivate others to live without love but I do not believe it is the right way to go. I believe that love can build a stronger society because friends and love can motivate us through life. Hate on the other hand will make us feel less of ourselves and will get us nowhere in life. “"Old civilizations claimed that they were founded on love or justice. Ours is founded upon hatred. In our world there will be no emotions except fear and rage" (O’Brien, 1984).
