Paul Bernando was born on the 27th of August, 1997 in Scarborough, Ontario. Growing up, he had 3 siblings and grew up in an abusive and generally unstable home. His father was physically abusive to his siblings and would even openly sexually assault his older sister in front of family members. He was eventually charged for these acts and for technical assault and pedophilia. His mother also has some issues, mainly regarding her mental health. She was clinically depressed and also had agoraphobia, which got to the point of her moving into the basement of their family home. These in themselves are literal criminal acts, but also the exposure at a young age by his father undoubtedly had an impact on Paul. With basic positive school thinking, it is believed that factors outside of free will/choice can directly influence the actions of others, or criminal behavior. In this case, we see the unstable home life and actions of both his parents directly influencing his future actions and his overall mental state. His father with his literal action and his mother with her mental health issues and the fact that he is the result of an affair that she had. These social and biological factors had impacted Paul and contributed to the decisions he then continually made. The timeline of his earlier life shows signs of latent delinquency as prior to his teenage years he appeared to be quite normal and was even in extracurricular activities. The impact of what he experienced had not been shown yet, but as he got older, he expressed darker fantasies and desires, and the way he raped and assaulted victims shows the the state of mind that existed being expressed through similar things he witnessed his father do to his
