The discovery of the new world was traced back thousands of years ago. The new world already had settlers within the land before the arrival of Christopher Columbus in 1607. The reactions of the Native Americans were hostile because of their past interactions with the Spanish explorers by the coastline. The encounter with Columbus' arrival, allowed the natives to attack one of the ships before the ships had landed on the shore. The attack on the ships did not last long because the Indians offered food and hospitality. They played an important role in the development of North America. The French and Indian War was essentially a result of imperialism. The meaning of imperialism is “a policy that extends a country power and influence through diplomacy or military force” (google search). In the book of Give me Liberty it states “permanently altered the global balance of power” (Froner 2017 131). Britain was the world leading empire and its center of trade and banking. As Britain ambition has reached out to the world it had led to kick out the French from their position in western Pennsylvania. This mistake made by the Britain, caused many deaths of soldiers led by George Washington and general Edward Braddock. As years passed the battle with the French had come to an end with Britain being victorious. The victory of Britain has changed the “world balance of power” (Froner 2017 132). The French and Indian war began in 1754 and was ended by a Treaty of Paris in 1763 (Froner 2017 131- 132). The treaty had an effect on the Indians that made them more dependent than it was with Britain and it was guided in a period of confusion over the land claims, control of fur trade, and tribal relations (Froner 2017
