He argues that it is normal to apportion blames without understanding the root causes of poor writing skills. I am writing to you on the past semester that we 've spent together. I enjoyed taking this class because I think that it helped me improve my writing skills and helped me become a better writer. Before taking this class I didn 't believe to think that I could to be a good writer. But you had a great system with different forms of writings to help conquer me and my fellow classmate’s fears in writing. I enjoyed the short writing assignments the most, because it was entertaining and different.
Good writing stems from a strong foundation of reading skills. I remember sitting in the library of Griswold Elementary School listening to the librarian Mrs. Church telling us how if we are good readers we are good writers. As the group of eager little children that we were, writing was something that we loved to do and participated in often, so a chance of becoming better at it just made us want to read more. In this same library, the PTO held the annual Scholastic Book Fair, this event allowed kids to browse a selection of books and develop a understanding of the personal book genre that they enjoy. As children, you love to read and are encouraged to do so by your parents, friends and teachers.
Not being able to process all of my thoughts at once, I wrote down what I could when the idea presented itself to me. When there was little to nothing on my mind that’s when I would edit and brainstorm, that was I wasn’t wasting away the precious time I had left. In being in my recovery stages there presented another difficulty later on in the night of focus and attention span to the tack at hand, using whatever methods I could, including various energy drink, Mountain Dew, and junk foods that I was able to scrounge up to stay awake and alert, dinner was non-existent that night. I had now reached around twenty pages of work in the late hours of the night ranging from ten to midnight; regularly being up at these hours my sleep wasn’t impossible to fend off. Yet even though I knew that sleep would overcome my brain eventually, there was an ongoing thought that if I didn’t have the paper complete I wouldn’t pass the class.
Tawney Nodland – As I look back over the past semester of English Composition, I realize that I have grown as a writer. Not onlyhas my understanding of the writing process changed, my whole attitude towards composition has too. This composition course has made a significant impact on my learning experience and has given me tools to take forward into my future educational and professional goals. Throughout this course, I have discovered things about myself as a writer and know some of my strengths and weaknesses. I now feel more prepared for future writing assignments, whether for work or for school.
I continued to type; I added in unnecessary symbolism and metaphors to give the illusion of a well-written paper. I was making good time, I had almost a page and a half done already, but suddenly I stopped writing. “ What next?” I had a case of writer's block, and it was bad.
Writing has always been an issue but yet interesting subject of mine. As hard as I try and write essays, and papers I just can’t get the hang of writing. But after taking this class, I did learn different writing technique and improved my writing proficiency, material body of formatting, and how to uncovering and properly use sources. Through class exams, essays, and a research paper, I was able to learn new writing skills. Although I have learned a variety of things, my writing still needs improvement.
