This semester was filled with many bumpy roads. I struggled in the beginning of the semester with my writings , as I didn 't feel confident enough to write a well developed writing. I seemed to find myself struggling whereas writing was not my favorable subject. The major errors I had in my writings this semester would be , grammatical errors, work citations, transition words, formatting ,paragraph development, sentence structure , and sentence level issue. Therefore I have set goals to improve my writing in the future.
How have I improved as a writer? I am thinking about my action plan as a writer have I improved, have I met the goals I set out to achieve on my first day of class, and what have I learned in this class? I will go over my time in this class and review the various topics I mentioned above and more. Looking back over my time in this class I will critique and praise myself. How I felt about writing when I first started this class compared to how I feel now, I would have to say I am more comfortable with writing.
I am now able to see the areas in which I lack in but I also recognize my strengths as well. To become a precise writer, you have to take the initiatives that will help you do so. These initiatives consist of working on different academic genres, planning and organizing material, identifying purpose and audience and for revising intentionally. It is also includes reading different types of texts and learning how to understand a writer’s argument and respond to the ideas of others.
After completing my junior research paper last school year I began thinking about what I would want to focus on for my senior project. I had written my paper on becoming an elementary school teacher, so I knew for my project I wanted to do something that gave me the opportunity to give back to my community. With the desires of some day becoming an elementary teacher, I decided to base my project around early education. After being informed about The Discovery Corner in Phoenix Oregon by my former English teacher, I applied and soon met my mentor Lynn DeHaven. The Discovery Corner is a daycare/ preschool which serves for children starting at 10 months all the way to 6 years old.
The essay had no strict guidelines and allowed us to write it in whatever way we wanted to. This moment in my writing experience changed everything. The purpose of this essay is to delve into my writing experience
My Inspiration as a Writer Why do we write? What experiences affect your identity as a writer? How do you develop your own voice? These are the questions that lead me to reflect on relevant moments in my life where I can apprehend my inspiration for writing.
Tawney Nodland – As I look back over the past semester of English Composition, I realize that I have grown as a writer. Not onlyhas my understanding of the writing process changed, my whole attitude towards composition has too. This composition course has made a significant impact on my learning experience and has given me tools to take forward into my future educational and professional goals. Throughout this course, I have discovered things about myself as a writer and know some of my strengths and weaknesses. I now feel more prepared for future writing assignments, whether for work or for school.
I believe that through this past semester, my writing knowledge, and writing ability has grown significantly. I hope to continue growing my knowledge about writing throughout the rest of my days in school and the rest of my
What is sociology? Before taking this class, I honestly had a very limited understanding of what sociology meant. However, because of the great diversity of people living in America, I have now realized how viewing the world with a sociological perspective can help me grasp the reality of many beliefs and practices in society today. Starting off with understanding the origin and purpose of sociology and transitioning into major topics such as race and ethnicity and education, I have gained new perspectives on how to observe the world around me.
The components of my reflective writing portfolio parallel my developments as a writer who is more in tuned with herself—a creator. My revised essay was a piece that I wrote in my freshman English course. As I reread it for the first time in about two years, I was unclear as to what was the question or prompt that I was trying to address. That possibly speaks to a lack of clarity within my writing. However, while revising this piece, I was able to offer an extended, more evolved perspective; my goal was to better articulate to my audience the feelings that I possessed towards the subject.
The purpose of this memo is to give a detailed report on the success of my completed projects as well as the status on ongoing projects. Throughout this report I will discuss any questions or concerns I have with projects that I have done or that I am still working on. I will also provide an illustration of the status of each project that has been assigned in the form of a chart. The report will then go on to discuss my future plans for how I plan to complete projects that are currently incomplete.
Each essay I wrote took me several time to write, several drafts which show that I have improve every time I do the drafts to write a perfect masterpiece. I learned a lot of skills and techniques this quarter, which has helped me to improve and progress my writing skills for the future. I will remember the skills, techniques, and tips that professor gave us in this English class for my higher education. For example, all the time that I went to visit professor Sapozhnikov office hours to receive help on my out-of -class essays has helped me to improve, grow, and progress in my writing skills as a writer. Some of the significant changes I have made as I was progressing and growing were to develop a strong thesis to help support my claims as I write my essays, such as facts, observations, illustration, and examples.

Thank you for giving me this chance to talk about my English class, it was very excited to be a part of English 101 this quarter. We act as a family in this class by helping each other in writing, discussions stories and responding to each other. To be honest, I worked very hard this quarter and I focused more on my English class rather than other classes I had taken in SFCC. Writing is something not easy when it comes to my mind, because I am an international student and it is a differencet from my writing style and English writing style, so I should separate between them. I would not say writing English assignment is very hard for me, but I mean I make some mistakes.
College is a point in your life that no one can prepare you for, it is just a portion of life that you have to experience for yourself. In my college career, I believed that English was the subject that I did not need to worry about because of my advanced background of English and even taking two AP classes and subsequent test for the subject. Unfortunately, when attending college you realized there are people who have the same background as you and some even better, but what tends to be the difference is the writing of each student. Writing is not something that can be learned in the same context in teaching an AP class and this was the first lesson I learned in my first-year composition. The name itself, F2F (Face-to-Face)
