The biggest tragedy of all is the death of two lovers who couldn't take it anymore. They had ended their life, but they actually didnt. Romeo and Juliet loved each other but in the world they were in, they were not allowed. They turned to a friend, a Friar, for help. Days after their secret wedding, they were both found dead. Many characters contributed to the death of Romeo and Juliet although, Friar Lawrence is most at fault for the tragic death of Romeo and Juliet. Friar Lawrence made many careless mistakes that could have been avoided considering he knew the consequences. Friar Lawrence states to Romeo “These Violent delights have violent ends” (II. vi. 9-10). Towards the end of the play, Friar Lawrence says, “Unhappy fortune! By my brotherhood, the letter was not nice but full of charge, of dear import, and the neglecting it may do much danger.” (V. II .18-21). Friar Lawrence found out the letter telling Romeo his plan never made it to Romeo. This is one of the flaws of this plan. He says it may do much danger so he realizes his grave mistake. He should have made sure the letter would get to Romeo. Whether it would be delivering it himself, sending many servants at different times, or writing multiple letters to send with many servants, he should have made sure Romeo received the letter. He should have thought of what could go wrong, especially with the plague going around that he most likely knew about, he should have had a backup or a better way to deliver the letter. The Friar was under a lot of stress during the whole situation. Stress causes people to make careless mistakes. “Based on numerous studies it was found that there are six different personality types, each of which defines specific characteristics and psychological needs. According to the PCM, when under stress Harmonisers tend to make involuntary and stupid mistakes”(Dr. Taibi Kahler). So because of all the stress he was under he made all the stupid mistakes.
