Friar Lawrence is very reckless. He married Romeo and Juliet when Romeo was not truly in love and still did it anyway while their families were feuding. Friar Lawrence told Juliet to take the potion and told her that Romeo would be there ready to take her away, but he never told Romeo so he thought she was really dead. Juliet did not want to marry Paris, so she went to Friar Lawrence and asked him if he had any sleeping potions and he did. He told her all the side effects and told her she should do it and that everything will be okay. She second guesses herself and did not want to take it and she was worried that Romeo would not know she was just sleeping so he said that he would tell him and he would be there when you awake and take you away and that never happened.
