Of mice and Men John Steinbeck explaining how important a friendship is and how much two people can support each. Without their bond it would have created a difficult and almost impossible journey for George and Lennie. In this book Lennie and George have the greatest friendship, George claims to not need Lennie, but reading the book he knows that Lennie need Geroge as much as George needs Lennie. The friendship between George and Lennie is true. Lennie, a mentally challenged, big man with stand out features and George, the small little tough guy, with the brains and great leadership skills. This quote shows that George is never afraid to admit that he and Lennie travel around together and he is not embarrassed by his company. The whole novel, George tries to compliment Lennie on his work and his positive abilities. Good friends always stick by each other. Also good friends always back each other up and they help each other out. Even though Lennie never contributes to helping George it's not like he would not help he just can't because of his disability. George on the other hand never gets into any type of trouble. Lennie is always the one, that gets in trouble but I’m sure of it that Lennie would help George in any circumstance. He promised to Lennie a great life and friendship. Lennie realized that how true was their friendship. He knew that he took many things way too seriously. Lennie also knew how much George has been doing for him and was so happy that George was with him. Its very sad that Lennie in the end only realized how bad George was. I think that the important part of this novel wasn’t who died, or the dream that they wanted. I think most important part of this story was close Lennie and George were. Usually a friendship is established, like the one that almost everyone has at school. You don’t often find two students who are such great friends that they know each other until they die. Everyone is so obsessed with how expensive someone’s clothes or jewelry is that they don’t have time to look deeper into a person and find what’s inside
