For everyone in the early thirties living in Mississippi, life is hard, especially when you are an African American. Working all day after school is no easy feat, and having a trouble making “friend” doesn’t help at all. In Mildred D. Taylor’s historical fiction novel Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry T.J. Avery is your best friend. You should not be friends with T.J. Avery because he has betrayed you, he is defiant, and he is manipulative. First of all, T.J. betrayed you.

Throughout Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry Cassie shows multiple examples of courage. Cassie Logan stands up for her family and doesn’t let her family down even if she is very young. Cassie proves her courage by standing up to Lillian Jean Simms,standing up for Little Man, and helping T.J despite the things he 's done. Cassie actions prove her courage . She is a very strong girl and lives to support her family.
In the novel Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, Stacey’s perspective of friendship with T.J. and Jeremy is unique and this affects the decisions he makes in Chapter 7. Stacey allows T.J. to do almost anything around him, even though T.J. is rude and naughty. But, T.J. is still Stacey’s best friend. Stacey is pretty rude to Jeremy even though Jeremy is super nice to the Logans and T.J.’s family. Stacey’s friendship with these two boys are very different.
It takes a lot to be courageous. Courage is when you or someone is being strong and standing up for themselves. The book is Roll Of Thunder Hear My Cry and the Character that I think was most courageous was cassie. She is a girl she is in 4th grade and she is a logan Cassie is the most courageous in this book some examples are she standed up for her rights and just like when she fought of lillian jean and other whites. Cassie is the courageous because she stands up for her rights and her family's.
Everyone has courage inside of them they just have to show it. Roll of thunder hear my cry introduces Cassie,a young girl who is willing to go above and beyond to fight the injustice of segregation, and to face her broadest fears. Cassie Logan has many courageous moments in this book but the three most challenging moments are standing up to Lillian Jean, Standing up for little man, and standing up for herself at the barnett store. Through Cassie´s actions she has proved she loves her family, loves the land, and knows that segregation is NOT RIGHT. She knows that equal rights is not an option in that day and age, but she will still try to make a difference in the world.
Thomas Aquinas once said, “There is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship.” In the novel, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred Taylor, Stacey should choose T.J as his friend. T.J would make the better friend because it is socially acceptable, he is able to give important information and finally because Jeremy's family has the power to falsely accuse Stacey of a crime. T.J is a much better choice for a friend because it is socially acceptable by the community. It is Christmas and Jeremy has just come to visit and papa is talking to Stacey about Jeremy and T.J.
Courage is Earned! Courage can't just be said it has to be shown. In the book Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry by Mildred Taylor, Mr. L.T. Morrision is the most brave, loyal, and kind person you will meet. Mr. Morrison showed courage by standing to the Wallaces, he moved Kaleb Wallace's car off the road, and when he stayed with the Logans even though he could get hurt Mr. Morrison’s actions proved that he knows what is right and he is going to stand up for that no matter what. Even though his parents were killed by whites, he stays calm and knows exactly how to deal with the situation.
In the end, deception gets the best of one of the characters, leading to his demise. Although friendship is a partnership created in order to have understanding built upon trust and honesty,
