Disagreements are a part of human nature, because we are a society of individuals that are working together to achieve somewhat similar goals. But good relationships do not just happen. They are constructed. There are many values that appeared in the show. In Full House, mutual love was practiced. Each of them showed an abiding, warm affection towards other family members. Cohesion played an important role in the Full House family as well. The entry of both Jesse and Joey did not seem to destabilize the family. In one episode, Stephanie learns that families come in all shapes and sizes, and teaches us to be grateful for our own. Even though her mom was not there, Stephanie was thankful that she had her Uncle Jesse and her Uncle Joey (Joel Zwick and Martie Cook, 1990). Furthermore, they always talked about stuff and solve it right away, because they wanted to remain connected. Even though they did not agree on something, they tried to see eye to eye, along with the ability to compromise on areas of disagreement. An important value was self-esteem, building yourself, and others family member up. In one episode, D.J tried on make-up, after much ridicule at school she comes home and she had way too much make-up on. Worried, Danny asked Rebecca (Jessie’s wife), to talk to her and help her understand that she was beautiful just the way she was (Bill Foster and Jeff Franklin, 1989). Another value was honesty. Danny, Jesse and Joey were trying to raise the girls to be honest. In one episode, Stephanie found DJ’s dairy and read it. Unfortunately, it got stuck on her hand and Joey helped her. When DJ found out, Joey was proud of Stephanie for being honest about reading the dairy. (Ripps, 1990). In addition, the most important value taught by the show was love and togetherness.
