With the study of computing, along with such areas as programming, and the correlation with computer systems, it is something I’ve always had an interest in, throughout many years of my life, but at times felt unsure if I would be able to develop a career from this. I first had to make a decision if it was something I wished to pursue at the point of GCSE subject selection. My teachers strongly advised me to choose this subject, as they knew I was the type of student to excel greatly into the future with this. I was soon proven to be correct in taking the advice given. All of which that required a set number of skills, and I was able to improve these by the continuation of work that was being set. Before long, I was able to see a clear connection to the University choices that would be available to me after finishing my studies at college, and the type of career path from doing so. Not only that, but I gained an higher level of communication skills, particularly when working in groups for a certain assignment, or just general discussion of this, which I feel is a fundamental part of success, especially with this course. As they are a growing industry, they are aware of the importance of technology and computing in their areas of work, something that the management staff noticed I excel greatly in, due to my deep interest in computing, and skills involved. Not only this, but I bring with me a level of authority, leadership, and teamwork. If certain tasks need to be completed within a certain amount of time, or things look bleak, I’m always the person to turn things around, ensuring deadlines are met, and the business is running at a smooth and efficient rate. These are the type of skills that will enhance my experience at University. To study this course at university would give me the best chance of success in the future, allowing me to use all the skills I currently possess at maximum potential. It would also allow me deeper knowledge of the careers available in Computing, along with meeting people I would never be able to, whilst enhancing my social skills. Independence is something I’ve always dreamt of having, and I know that studying this course, at University, is something I cannot afford to miss out on, along with gaining a valuable degree in Computing, which I know, will be achieved through my hard work and
