Adequate Standard of Living Adequate Standard of living for GLBTI include things like food, clothing and shelter. This group of individuals need to be able to easily meet these basic needs. These individuals are most likely to experience discrimination within the workforce which can lead to fewer opportunities for them and resulting in not as much money as they needed. Housing for this group is important as it is a place where they can openly express who they are and no one can judge them. They need the information and materials that relate to their issues. Schools are now starting to encourage students to take part in anti-bulling and anti-discrimination policies so that everyone can feel accepted. Not only does this group of individuals have a right to be educated about this, but the general public needs to be educated with these issues so that there is less fear and ignorance related the the GLBTI community. Employment Since the anti-discrimination laws have been put in place, they are no longer treated differently and they are now judged specifically on their ability and performance for that particular job. With this law, individuals can not be treated based on their sexuality, however, there is still a chance that they may experience harassment or discrimination within the workforce/place. Safety and Security There is sill a huge issue about keeping individuals in the GLBTI community away from emotional or physical violence. As a result of their sexual orientation, there is a high number of violence towards gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex communities. They are still involved in hate-crimes whether is verbal abuse, or threatening emails/texts/messages.
