Petition to take POLSC-10-Online Hello All, As this academic year is coming to it’s conclusion, I have reflected and sorted out an academic plan that I believe is realistic for me. I plan to graduate Academy of the Redwoods with an associates degree in political science, and one day achieve a masters in the field, with a minors in American studies. There is no doubt in my mind that makes me feel incapable of finishing such as task while still achieving all high school requirements.
I have always had an interest in the criminal justice field, but my greatest influence was in the eighth grade when a police officer, Michael Owens, gave me my first ever West Virginia Legal Codes book. By giving me this book, he influenced me a lot. He showed me that I could do anything I set my mind and that he believed in me, just by giving me a simple book. Since then, I have committed to my decision of becoming a lawyer and is why I now take Criminal Justice courses at my local technical school.
After obtaining my associate degree I began my own step team and mentoring the young ladies at Arbor Hill Elementary in Albany NY. I then decided to continue my education with obtaining my bachelors degree in Business Administration. Being that I have become a mother of two, I knew that the chances for me to go into the classroom were slim to none. I made the decision to return back to school online to Everest University. By the time I started I relocated back to South Carolina to helped out my dad that was sick at the time.
I know that as long as I have the awesome support system that I have from my friends and family, I will surely be able to maintain good grades and focus skills while attending Colorado Christian College completing the degree in which I started. I cannot allow anything to hold me back and I will make sure that if I ever feel like I am getting overwhelmed I will make sure that I reach out to my support system to stay on task. Now that I am once again surrounded by success, support, and love and helping hands. I know I can do this this time around, all I need is the door opened. I have faith that this is the right time for me to finally get that career that my family and I
During three years of studying in LACC my goal was to obtain an AA degree then transfer to the University of Northridge or Cal State LA. I am majoring in Accounting and have a GPA of 3.91. I keep myself occupied by studying and working at LACC at the same time. The experience that I am obtaining working at an academic field is simply amazing because I interact with people of various education levels and work experiences. I live with my mother and sister who has two kids and help her to take care of them.
The transition from an Associate Degree (AD) nurse to a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) is a rewarding time during a nurse’s career. There are many reasons why nurses return to college to get their BSN degree. Some return to meet a personal goal others return for professional advancement or are mandated by their employer to do so. Over the past few years many organizations stopped hiring AD nurses or drastically reduced the number they hire. Many AD nurses who delayed returning to school regret not doing so sooner when they realize the wealth of knowledge gained from getting their BSN degree.
The career I have chosen has to do with criminal justice. Criminal justice is something that 's always seemed to grab my attention. It 's something I feel I was born to be interested in. I really enjoy helping others in any way so I figured why not pursue a career as a probation officer. Not only will I be helping others, but I will be preventing an offender from repeating the same mistake.
The associate’s degree in nursing (ADN) has been the benchmark credential for getting a nursing job for the past 40 years, but change is now afoot. A small but growing number of U.S. hospitals are now only hiring nurses that have a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or higher. And indicators are that many more hospitals will join them in years to
In college, I plan to study criminal justice. After college, I plan to use my education to create a safer environment for citizens all over the world. If there is anything that I can do to help lower crime rates, give people the justice they need, or help educate others on criminal justice and laws, I am willing to do it. I believe that crime is a big issue and I can become one of those who help take action to make the world safer. Working with law enforcement can better communities and make it safer for families.
Before choosing criminal justice as my major, I wanted to be an art major. The dream was to work as a comic book artist, but I soon realized that it was virtually impossible for me to achieve that dream. Eventually, I became interested in the criminal justice system and all of the aspects that exist in the system, specifically the court aspect. When I told my family that I wanted to be a criminal justice major, my father told me outright that I could not be a police officer or work in corrections, so law school was the only option, but I morphed that expectation into my own with the desire to become a civil rights attorney. Moreover, I have always been interested in politics and political movements that involved civil rights and human rights.
I would like to end up as a judge of some time career-wise. More immediately, I see myself working a government job while in law school. A government job would hopefully get me good connections for a future career as either a prosecutor or defender. The law career is interesting to me because it is a little bit of every subject. There is a performance aspect to it, especially when considering the public speaking component.
Completing my bachelor’s degree has been long and trying, but over the years, I have found inner strength and motivation to always push forward. Earning my bachelor’s degree at Adams State University has been the greatest accomplishment I have ever attained. I am the first person in my family to earn a college degree which is something I am very proud of. College has been a major positive influence in my life. Having to be responsible, determined and consistent has shown me that I can achieve anything I set my mind to.
Fashion design is similar to the advertising trade, in that most of the businesses involved are located in New York or California. More specifically, they are located in New York City or the Los Angeles area. Accordingly, those who want to pursue a career in fashion design and attempt to break into the industry with a major firm may be faced with relocation. However the education comes first. Here are a series of steps that hopefully will take you to the portal of a career in fashion design.
When I first graduated high school I thought I wanted to be a pilot to fly airplanes, so I signed up to attend classes at Kishwaukee College located in DeKalb. ECC helped me sing up for classes at an in district rate because Elgin could not offer the courses that I wanted to me. During the first semester I found out that I did not want to become a pilot anymore and that I would be happier if I changed and focused on computer science. The advisors helped me schedule classes back at ECC for computer science then next semester. During the last year and a half at ECC I have been able to start fulfilling my education goals by getting a good education and find out what I want to go to college for.
It was important for me to continue my education, especially in this field as it has always been a dream of mine. In my family neither of my parents attended college, through the years I have watched them do jobs they hated so me and my siblings could be successful. As I got older my brother attended college, be prospered and graduated in four years. He now has a steady job and
