Coming from an exceptionally poor family has had a major impact on me. I’ve always known that I would have to work extra hard to be successful during my life. When I graduated high school, I didn’t have a plan and the thought of college didn’t cross my mind. I had been working dead end jobs for a few years when I realized I had to find a way to better my life and the future for myself and my family. Without even knowing what I wanted to major in, I started the enrollment process and began a journey that would give me an education and experience I could never replace. Completing my bachelor’s degree has been long and trying, but over the years, I have found inner strength and motivation to always push forward.
Earning my bachelor’s degree at Adams State University has been the greatest accomplishment I have ever attained. I am the first person in my family to earn a college degree which is something I am very proud of. College has been a major positive influence in my life.
