Diversity is not only about ethnicity and the culture you belong to, but it’s all of the things that make you who you are. My contributions to the diversity found at UK would not be limited strictly to my heritage and background, but also the characteristics that make up my personality, which was heavily formulated by the events and experiences I had as a child. The prominent features of my personality that would be beneficial to the community would be my ability to accept, my ingenuity, and my ability to clearly communicate. My early struggles in being a minority, and following the attacks on 9/11, taught me that in the face of racial discrimination, I should embrace my culture and those who hate me and move on.
