The Olympic Games are an international sporting competition. Sport is defined as an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment. Gaming should not be an Olympic sport as it does not fit the definition of a sport. Gaming can worsen a person's social skills, health and can contribute to global warming.

Gaming worsens a person’s social skills and leadership abilities. Gaming should not be an Olympic sport because it would encourage more people to game. By doing a team sport, people learn leadership and teamwork skills while meeting new people and making new friends. Gaming encourages people to stay inside, away from others and not talk to people face to face. This affects communication skills and leadership which can later affect their capability of being able to work in society. By doing a team sport, a person learns to work with other people and they can take these skills to their work. A gamer misses out on these skills. If this energy comes from unrenewable sources, then this will significantly contribute to global warming. A 29-minute bike ride uses the same amount of energy as running three gaming consoles. The energy put into riding a bike comes from a person’s body. Electricity is used to run a gaming console and other gaming devices.
