This commemorative coin was based off of the Capitol building in Colonial Williamsburg. The Capitol was where Patrick Henry gave his speech Caesar Brutus. This speech was very inspirational and important to the colonists. This is why on the front side of the coin Patrick Henry’s face is shown along with his famous words “Give me liberty, or give me death!” These very inspirational words are a sign of liberty which is why on the back is the Grand Union Flag.
Eliminating drugs has been a key focus point of police departments for a long time. It has become something that SWAT teams will do anything to bust, including breaking down doors. There is an argument between people who think no knock drug raids are necessary and those who believe they bring unnecessary consequences. Kevin Sack’s article, “Door-Busting Drug raids Leave a Trail of Blood” is exposing the flaws behind no-knock drug raids across the United States. Sack claims that they are not always necessary and are often approved without appropriate evidence that a raid is the best option.
In Shakespeare’s play, King Henry IV Part 1, Hotspur’s speech to King Henry, in attempt to explain why he did not free prisoners when ordered to do so by the courtier, employs that he is an impetuous leader that is incapable of consistently obtaining respect. Hotspur says that the courtier confronted him after the battle, and that the man was, “neat, and trimly dressed, / Fresh as a bridegroom” (I.3.32-33). The man is composed and feminine, which prominently disgusts Hotspur. His repugnance of “neat” is looked down upon by King Henry, and is not respected by those Hotspur entails respect from. Hotspur is a hasty soldier that evidently contains no tolerance for weakness, fear, or even the slight details of courtly behavior.
Dunmore’s proclamation wanted to free slaves who joined his forces. He pretty much knew that this was going to draw attention. In April slaves were ready to volunteer their service but Dunmore quickly turned them away. The next couple of months he boarded the ship with slaves. His proclamation didn’t go over so well especially with the enemies.

Address is its inaugurating document, it is not a tradition separate from liberty, but simply the means of defending the first tradition. Moreover, one of McDougall’s main purposes throughout is to show that unilateralism was not isolationism, which in fact never existed. “Our vaunted tradition of ‘isolationism,’” he states, “is no tradition at all, but a dirty word that interventionists, especially since Pearl Harbor, hurl at anyone who questions their policies” (p. 40). That the term functions as a smear (and a proven method of forestalling debate) is true enough. But it is hard to see how Washington’s doctrine can be equated with McDougall’s unilateralism.
On November 7, my family and I were invited to attend a quinceanera. A quinceanera is a traditional celebration of life and gratitude to the fifteenth birthday of a young Hispanic girl. It is believed that it was first celebrated by the Aztecs and Mayans and was adapted by the Spanish Catholics that conquered South America. The ancient Mexicans, or Aztecs, had many ceremonies to mark passages through the stages of life. This ritual emphasizes the young girls journey into womanhood and to announce her new social role to the entire community.
As a representative of slavery, Frederick Douglass in the speech, What To The American Slave Is Your 4th Of July?, denounces America’s disposition towards slavery, noting its emergence into a flagrantly hypocritical state. Douglass supports his denouncement by arguing that, to the African American slave, whether freed or not, the Fourth of July is merely reminiscent of the blatant injustice and cruelty they stand subject to every day. The author’s purpose is to declare that slaves are men as well, in order to slander the nation’s misconduct and unveil the great sin and shame of America: slavery. Douglass’s formal writing style addresses his audience of Americans who observe the holiday, as well as others interested in the topic of slavery and deception ー where America reigns.

Intro Growing up, we have all heard the many stories of George Washington. While many recognize him as one of the most important figures in U.S history, others only recognize him by one of his multiple accomplishments; he was the 1st president of the United States. With presidency comes the variety of duties and responsibilities, the main being a president 's inaugural adress. In George Washington 's very 1st inaugural, he uses three rhetorical strategies: personification, amplification, and last but not least, repitition to convey what he truly wants for the States and why a successful Constitution should be in order.

Nelson Mandela 1. The speech is in the plural ‘We’ and not in the first person. This maybe because both he and De Klerk both won the prize or because he accepted on behalf of the nation as De Klerk had his own speech.
