The Socs and the Greasers are the two rival gangs in the novel, The Outsiders. Today I will discuss the differences between these 2 gangs. We will be comparing things on a broad spectrum including their values, status, privileges and more with direct examples from outsiders. Now, without further ado, let’s jump right into the social insecurities of teenagers.
One of the most significant differences between The Socs and the greasers is the way they are treated, which also gets us to the first point; social status. Socs don't have to do a lot for people to side with them. From the start, they are already well respected because of where they came from. They also have the freedom to do whatever they want to a certain degree. They are respected

They all came together because of a rough upbringing, and some have nothing but each other. Depending on the Greaser, priorities differ a ton between them. For example, Ponyboy's higher priorities would be his schoolwork and the track team. He doesn’t have a lot of responsibilities, and overall his life is more relaxed than someone like Darry, who has priorities like getting enough money to pay expenses for his 2 brothers, which he has to work 2 jobs for. For example, both have struggles in different areas, however, one common issue is a lack of guidance. While this is not true for all members, many Socs and Greasers do not have the parental guidance that we have, which leads to innocent people following a bad example and believing that is what you should do. This can also lead to more specific problems among the gang such as a lack of trust and dislike of each other because it goes against one another’s ideals. Socs also constantly feel a need to fit in, which causes many of the socs to be extremely similar. This may cause an issue about who they are. Greasers have problems with things such as Money, which causes them to do illegal things for personal reasons. Despite the difference in privilege between the two, they act pretty similarly. Both like to do illegal things, get drunk, drive cars, and a lot more. This could mean that if all the members of the gang grew up in the same environment, they could get
