In 1913 Henry Ford created the first assembly line that affected America greatly. Ford was interested about how things worked and how he can improve them. He started off by making pocket watches then realizing that there wasn’t a high demand. Later on ford started to work with investors to build the first car. He started to produce different cars that were also simple.
Murphy, He resigned from Edison Company and then established at Detroit automobile company in 1899. But the automobiles produced in this company were or poor quality and expensive. That is one of the reason the company got dissolved in 1901. In 1901, C. Harrold Willis assisted Henry to design and built a 26-horsepower automobile. With the outstanding success of this automobile, William and other stockholders invested in the Detroit automobile came together to form the henry Ford Company in 1901.
Ford Motor and Chevrolet, both owned by General Motors Company, are the two biggest brands in the United States. Both Ford and GM are leaders and very big competitors with brands and models that compete all over the US. Ford’s largest brand is simply, Ford, and GM’s biggest brand is Chevrolet. In 1911, William Durant formed what was originally called the Chevrolet Motor Company. Durant was the founder of General Motors, but he had been forced out of the company in 1910 because he was financially overextended and banking interests assumed control, forcing him from management of GM. Using an important partnership with racecar driver Louis Chevrolet, Durant used the Chevrolet Motor Company to eventually resume a leading role in General Motors.

General Motors is a multinational company that makes and sells vehicles and its parts. In 2009 General Motors had some financial problems. The automotive company had difficulties with their finances, as a result, the company was not profitable and was leaning towards bankruptcy. The company then reached out to the government for money to help with their situation. The Bush-led government decided to use $49.5 billion of taxpayers’ money to help General Motors out.
