Since I was young I was playing sports I played soccer, handball, and I was on a swimming team, my middle school bus used to drop me right after school to the soccer training and then after I finish I go to the swimming practice. I was in shape through my childhood until I gave up when I was 12. I gave up on all sports.and then over time due to the lack of exercise and activities and the excessive eating I gained a huge amount of weight to the point I weighed 260 pounds when I was only 16. I tried to lose weight a lot and I had a membership at the gym and for a long time, I used to lie at my parents and tell them that I am going to the gym but I am really playing video games. somedays I go and other days I skip, even the days I went to the …show more content…

This is also comparable to Obesophobia, the fear of becoming fat or being obese. It is most often people who are pressured to be fit and thin that develop this phobia, such as aesthetic athletes (ex. dancers, cheerleaders, ice skaters, etc.). Symptoms of Pocrescophobia will vary from one person to the next, depending upon their state of mind, level of fear, and various personality characteristics. General symptoms, though, include avoidance of food, obsession with weight loss, avoidance of scales, guilt when eating, and not feeling hungry. Pocrescophobia could also lead to the development of various eating disorders, namely Bulimia nervosa or Anorexia nervosa. Bulimia is a condition where the person overeats and then purges immediately after, usually by self-induced vomiting. Anorexia, on the other hand, is a condition where the person simply does not eat. Both of these could also be coupled with excessive exercise. with Pocrescophobia happens to find out that they have gained weight, even just the smallest amount, they may begin to suffer from a panic attack. Panic attacks are states of extreme terror and anxiety. A person who develops Pocrescophobia due to a past trauma could have experienced a massive amount of weight gain or witnessed someone close to them experience this. Obesity is also a cause of numerous other health problems and even death in some cases. Someone who experienced the death of a loved one because of gaining weight will be terrified of getting to the state, themselves. And there are different ways of treatment like therapy, Various forms of therapy, Social therapy, therapies help in building self-esteem. Also, Medication is useful for treating anxiety, and there is a new rehabilitation center for eating disorders These centers offer a warm and comforting environment to those who fear to gain weight or have low
