Rom 5:12 – 21
God takes both the punishment for sin and the gift of grace very seriously because they are the most important themes in the Bible. We can see how much Paul under the guidance of the Holy Spirit wanted us to this whole passage is essentially repeating the fact that sin and death came from Adam but now we have a chance at life and justification through Christ, and it seems like he really wants us to have assurance of this fact. I had never really thought of the fact that Adam’s sin brought death and Christ’s righteousness brought life are linked in such a way that because one is true the other must be true. But this is what verse 15 seems to say, that we can have assurance that Christ’s sacrifice will work, one for all time, because …show more content…

He is similar because one act gave one result for all of time, but he is also dissimilar from Adam because Jesus was God and Adam was a man, Jesus chose good versus the sin of Adam, and Jesus brought us the gift of life versus the curse of death. It makes me wonder if I would be as committed to God’s plan. If I knew what was going to happen to me as a result of pursuing him if it were anything like what Jesus had to go through and is probably a good thing that God doesn’t usually let us know beforehand what will happen to us. God gives us the strength as we need it. My family just recently went through a tough trial and I’m pretty sure that if we had known beforehand everything that was going to happen It would’ve been a lot harder to get through because of the knowledge. But God gave us the strength, each day as we walked through the trial. As he revealed more of the trial, he gave us more strength. So I have seen this in my own life very recently, which makes me marvel at Jesus’s fortitude. He knew everything that was going to happen, which is why he was so stressed in the garden, but he went through it anyways for us. This makes me praise God for Jesus and what he did for us. It also makes me wonder at the fact that while Christ suffered persecution and death, we often don’t want to suffer even a little discomfort for him. We should be willing suffer for him and trust that he will give is the strength that we need. I have found this to be true in my own life and it has taught me
