Slide 2: Global food security is the ability to have physical and economic access to enough safe and nutritious food to meet dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy lifestyle.
Slide 3: However, the estimated global population in the year 2050 is nine billion people. Are we really able to feed that many people? The possibility of this happening is decreasing due to some of the current threats to food security.
Slide 4: Drought: Changing weather patterns because of global warming means we can't rely on enough rain falling where we need it. It is damaging the human population health by lack of water and increase in diseases.

Soil erosion is caused by the overuse of land, deforestation, desertification and water runoff. It causes the decrease in soil productivity and increase in risks of global food insecurity.
Slide 6: Climate Change: This is one of food security's biggest issues. This is because weather patterns become erratic and more intense, temperatures either go up or down, sea levels rise and landscapes drastically change. Plants, trees, and wildlife don’t have enough time to evolve to adapt to the new conditions. This also affects agriculture as it depends so much on nature—on water, air, soil, and the

Vertical farming compares favourably to traditional agriculture because of its highly efficient use of soil and water resources, limited reliance on fertilisers and pesticides, and ability to reduce food waste.
Slide 10: Agroforestry: This is the integration of trees and shrubs with crops and livestock systems. Agroforestry allows producers to make the best use of their land, can boost field crop yields, diversify income and increase resilience to climate change.
