Global warming is a event that is happening right now and is going to affect future generations, and the only way that we can solve it will be through taking action and examining what what as a species we are doing wrong. Global warming is the increase of the world’s average atmospheric temperature that is believed to be caused primarily by carbon dioxide. It is becoming a greater threat to the biome and if continued will have adverse effects to various parts of an ecosystem. There is a reservoir of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere that goes through the carbon cycle and then returns to the atmosphere, but due to human activities, such as burning fossil fuels for energy, and the use of combustion in everyday life there are greater amounts of carbon dioxide being introduced to the atmosphere a faster rate. Since the amount of carbon dioxide is increased, there is more of it not being used or absorbed throughout the carbon cycle. …show more content…
The increase in temperature will start to affect the producers that are easily affected by changes in temperature. Because the plants when affected tend to grow less and die more often primary consumers will start to suffer as well. With the producer population becoming smaller the primary consumers’ populations will be forced to become smaller in order to sustain themselves with decrease in food. The decrease in prey animals will lead to a decrease in secondary consumers. Now eventually after a substantial amount of time the entire energy pyramid will collapse. It won’t be a collapse of just one ecosystem, but it will be ecosystems all over the earth that will experience this all because of the humans burning fossil
