My preferences are reflected in my 7 day diet, but I was unable to have my favorite desserts. Instead of feeling joy from removing an processed, high sugar foods from my diet such as my favorite gluten-containing cookies, I was more joyful about the experience being over. It was very overwhelming to have to constantly check labels before I purchased anything, especially when I was very busy and limited with time because of school and work. If the doctor gave you a choice: To improve your health you need to follow the “diet” OR take a pill every day for the rest of your life…. which would you choose and why? Given the answer to this question, how could you encourage a client to follow a “diet”?
To be honest, I think that if a doctor would give me the option to follow this diet or take a pill everyday, I would take the easy way. Taking a pill everyday and still being able to consume the foods I enjoy would be my choice. However, if this medication had some sort of side effect or negative health implication, I would not begin taking it. If I were to encourage a client to begin the diet, I would let them know that this is a way to manage their condition naturally. If an individual follows the diet, they are taking matters into their own hands by becoming attentive to the foods they consume.
