The use of goal statements and leadership are both very important when discussing strategic planning and the betterment of a business of an organization. According to Kelly (2011) when setting goals, management may find it to be an ever changing and growing process that requires them to change goals and reformulate as new information becomes available. Accord to Kelly (2011) unclear goals can be difficult for someone to determine if the goal has been met because the goal can be too broad. Clear goals, like specific goals, are very detailed and can help the organization determine what criteria have to be meet for the goal to be met. Just like with specific and general, depending on if the managers pick clear or unclear when wording a goal can determine how successful the team is in showing that they have achieved said goal. Single and multiple goals can also be seen in a similar way. With single goals, you just have one goal and it can be a broad goal that covers a large amount of information. Multiple goal types, look at relationships within the system and builds goal upon goal within on single goal and takes these relationships into considerations (Kelly, 2011).
