What do Harry Potter, Star, and The Wizard of Oz, all have in common? They all follow the Hero’s Journey. The Hero’s Journey is a popular method of storytelling that has been used around the world for centuries. Joseph Campbell first noticed this in 1949 and put it in his book The Hero With a Thousand Faces. Many famous characters throughout history have followed what he outlined, including Ebenezer Scrooge from Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol, which follows what Campbell described in his book.

The old tracks clicked in the night, a soft hum of noise in an otherwise empty space. A smiling cartoon figure watched over it all, its eerie smile sticking out like a sore thumb in the somber mood the night had cast over the park. Long shadows were casted on the sidewalk, which were colored with spilled ice cream and leftover popcorn. A janitor swept them up absent-mindedly, his crisp whistle echoing around the still air. His back was to the castle, the pride and joy of the happiest place on earth.

During this time, he learned about “human behavior and the criminal underworld” and knew that he never wanted to return (Rosewood, 2015, p. 12). He took what he learned from prison and applied it to his criminal activities throughout his life, and once he reached eighteen, the facility reluctantly released him, arguably a significant downfall to the juvenile detention system. His release report stated: “[he was] anti-social and there is something in his past development that is preyed upon his mind” and “we consider him dangerous and also believe that he has the homicidal tendencies peculiar to a paranoid type” (Rosewood, 2015, p.
People living in countries that are poor are considered resourceful. Family´s in Africa that barely have enough food, somehow make due with what they have and find a way to eat. And with the limited supplies that they havem they still build houses and some live joyous lives with the little they have. But with the scenarios these people in poverty are placed in, they still make the best of what seems to be a living hell. Kids make fun of each other daily, and I’m one of the victims that bullies are sometimes able to use. My story is about a boy who’s name is Elmo. Everyone makes fun of his name because it is from the cartoon for little kids. This story means a lot to me because people make fun of weird or funny names, which should be completely stopped. I really wish I could send this message to the world: Nobody should be bullied just because of their name is funny.

'Goblin Market ' by Christina Rossetti is centered heavily around the Christian faith. Rossetti makes many parallels between the characters and circumstances in the poem with stories and people of the Bible. Rossetti uses the characters Laura and Lizzie as representations of Eve, a sinner, and Jesus Christ. 'Goblin Market ' shows parallels with multiple parts of the Bible throughout the entire poem. The introduction of the allegory begins when two sisters, Lizzie and Laura, are tempted to buy wicked fruit by a clan of male goblins.
