Golder Ranch Fire District (GRFD) prides itself on providing the highest level of service to the members of the district. GRFD has created a set of standards that reflect the high level of services provided. These standards can be found in both the Mission and Values Statement. Both statements represent the goals that GRFD strives to achieve and maintain. If an organization wants to be successful they must have a set of goals and values. These statements serve as a reminder to GRFD of the goals that we are always striving to achieve. Also, these statements serve as a reminder to the community stating what will be provided for them. Integrity is the common theme that guides the employees of the district. Integrity is always doing the right thing even when it’s the hard thing. Also, it can be defined as being honest and having strong moral principles. Integrity is not only an important trait for the district to have, but also for a person. I believe that having a set of morals is what defines a person. I strive to make integrity a part of my morals. I want GRFD personnel and residents of the district to know that I am going to be do the right thing no matter what. The rest of the statement describes how GRFD is going to be proactive and provide the best needs for the community. “…emerging needs of our community through teamwork, dedication, and professionalism.” If an organization cannot adapt and change to fit the needs of the matter then they will inevitably fail. GRFD demonstrates and continues to show how they will adapt to the community. The Values Statement reinforces the Mission Statement. GRFD’s Values Statement takes an “ADIRECT” approach which stands for, Accountability, Dependable, Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Compassion, and Trust. These values are not new to me by any means. Fortunately, I was raised by family members who work in the fire service. They were able to show me the ropes at a very young age. Also, I have my parents to thank. I would not be the man or probationary firefighter I am today without them. My parents demonstrated ADIRECT ever since I could remember. Everything I know about character and morals is because of them. My parents always told me to be proud of my work and give full effort because at the end of the day I’m not only representing myself, but the Alderete name
