The Good of Adoption
Have you ever thought about adoption or heard a friend or family member considering this option? There are thousands and maybe more children looking for a home and maybe one day you could be able to help them. You yourself may know someone that has been adopted or even been put up for adoption. The reason for adoption being a heavy topic to talk about is because it can lead to even bigger issues that don’t want to be brought up. However each year there are kids trying to find a home and have a better life for themselves. I will first talk to you all about first, how adoption has gone down in the past year, second, of how this can be changed, and finally how my plan to change adoptions from dropping can affect you.

In some states you can adopt at the age of 21 and the cut off limit is 65 years old (“Considering Adoption”). The reason that most families start adopting is that they want to give a child a better life and help them get over the pain that they might have gone through (Craft). When adopting there are three different types of adoption, one is confidential, the second is mediated, and the final one is open. The confidential way of adoption means that there will be no contact between the adoptive parents and child with the birth mother. Mediated adoption means that it is semi-open with a third party person being the one who is making all the contact with the adoptive parents, child, and birth mother. The final adoption is open which basically means that any contact is directly between the adoptive parents, child, and birth mother (“Cons of Each Type of Adoption”). The choice of adoption a child could come to you and you could have to make the choice to help give a better life to a child or let them wait for someone
