The world we live in is plagued with suffering. Murder, theft, environmental disasters; you name it, someone in the universe has experienced it. Despite all of the tragedies that go on in the world, people still have a sense of faith that someone is looking out for us, that someone being God. While there are definitely people who believe that God could do no wrong, there are others who are a bit more skeptical. For some, the idea that there would be a God that lets all of the evil in the world occur and has no power to put an end to it makes it hard to accept the fact that there even truly is a God. If an all powerful God truly existed, why would he punish those who have done nothing wrong? One recent example would be the Manchester bombing that occurred after an Ariana Grande concert, where most of the population were kids and their parents. Events like these make people ask why and how God could let this happen, especially to someone as innocent as children. Atheists often use the problem of evil as evidence of the nonexistence of God, claiming that a perfect God does not exist and therefore cannot look after people no matter how much faith they have. Another inconsistency with God and evil is the definition of God itself. It is not possible for God to be omnipotent, omniscient and omnibenevolent all at the same time while evil still exists, one cancels out the other. If evil did not exist, then the statements about God being aware of evil and doing something about it would be true and then the theory that a perfect God exists would be true, but that is not the case. In fact, if we dug deeper into the knowledge that evil exists we could draw up the conclusion that because God knows about evil, but does nothing to prevent it, then he is not perfect and the most good. The same goes for the idea that God knows of evil, but does not have the force or the ability to stop it, meaning he is not as powerful as we
