“You’re nobody until you're talked about” Gossip Girl. Until one does an extraordinary action, that one will be unnoticed to the public. Going to St. Jude’s School for Boys, Gossip Girl realized he was completely overlooked everyday at school because he was impecunious. Being tired of the long days of going without word to another person, Gossip Girl created the “Gossip Girl” blog. This blog told every dirty, juicy secret, even often about himself for the gratification of being talked about. Norma Jeane (or as we know her Marilyn Monroe) straight from the womb was bound to be orphaned from the hospital. Shoshana says, “Her mother was so poor that she gave birth to Norma Jeane in the charity ward of a hospital” (Shoshana 20). If Marilyn's mother was giving birth to a baby in the charity section of the hospital, then how would she be able to pay to raise a child. Little Norma, eventually Marilyn grew up and became the one of the world's most looked up to models in the world. Without the want from Marilyn's mother the childhood of hers was ought to be intricate. An unknown author wrote, “Norma Jeane Baker, better known as Marilyn Monroe, experienced a disrupted, loveless childhood that included two years at an orphanage” (“Marilyn Monroe” 113”. No love was shown for Marilyn at any orphanage, leaving her to hop from one to another leading to an extreme sense of needing attention and love. Beginning at age seven, Marilyn found a unfluctuating home, with her “parents” where she had chores and ate dinner with her “family” just like everyone else in the household. Growing up was a hard thing for Katie, she wasn't that very confident and did not know of many people who knew herself. Katie said, “No one really knew who I was” (Ladlie). Katie was a one best friend kind of girl, she didn't choose to only have one, it just happened that only her best friend Katie Todd and a few other acquaintances want to be her friend. Katie eventually grew into the confident, outgoing, and inspiring person she is today. Facing the world pre-surgery, Kaie mostly read a lot of books and hung out with Katie. Katie goes on to say, “Kind of a loser really” (Ladlie). Without all the friends, Katie never really chose to talk or even liked to talk unless talked to or answering a question in class other than that she was just another girl in school. Katie wasn't always the one to fit in or be one to hold a conversation with people. She explained, “Nobody really talked to me (maybe behind my back but that's middle school)” (Ladlie). At school Katie was the quiet, shy girl, who was never really talked to in class. Post-surgery she now has more confidence, friends and has held more conversations then Katie had ever had when she was a kid with two legs.
