The author in this book is mostly trying to get at the point of getting revenge isn 't as sweet as you think it might be. But to Daniel he thinks it will be sweeter than tea and better than anything he has ever done in his life.

One example of when this happens is when Daniel 's parents are killed by the prayer and he is out for revenge,but the one thing he doesn 't know is that his parents were working with the prayer and helping him to eliminate the aliens on the list but when the prayer wants the list back his parents wont to give it back because Daniel will need it for the later journey in life. Another example of this is when he is in greenville and he is walking with this girl he met and the alien outlaws working for number seven come and try to kill them and they think they have found them but what they don 't realize is that it was all a trap and they were going to get killed but he had the girl there and he didn 't want her to know who he really was and what really was. For instance this is shown when Daniel demolishes number seven and eight and then moves to number three and thinks that he is trying to kill people to but in reality he just wants to make money and if anyone gets in his way he will kill to get them out of the way/do whatever it takes to get rich. Another place this happens is when Daniel sees most of the creations that the alien outlaws are making to do whatever they want to do he thinks that there some kind of evil contraption that will do something to the human race to wipe it out or just take over earth.The final point that the author might be trying to show is that don’t get attached to things if you know you 're going to be leaving them soon. One example of this is when Daniel got too attached to klonder (the son of number seven and eight) and when he had to leave tokyo to go help his fellow alien hunter s he was sad because he had been attached to him and he was one of the only friends that have meant something to
