“There is a sufficiency in the world for man 's need but not for man 's greed.” This quote was spoken from a wise Indian activist, what he says is a correlation towards the rising greed aspect of the character Macbeth. This play Macbeth was about a soldier who became greedy with power. It is about Macbeth’s Tyrant display when he kills Duncan and orders Banquo to be killed and other violent acts.

The world in which humans live has, if nothing else, an inkling of this idea ingrained in society.
Both greed and power, if not controlled, can lead to destruction. Throughout William Shakespeare’s play Macbeth, Shakespeare uses both characters Macbeth and Lady Macbeth to demonstrate how ambition can change one’s personal relationships. As in the beginning of Act 1, Scene 7 Macbeth and Lady Macbeth do not share the same ambition, and it is because of this that their relationship lacks love and affection however through the use of persuasion and other means, Lady Macbeth is able to get Macbeth to pursue her ambition. This not only changes their relationship drastically but it also changes Macbeth’s attitude towards ambition. Throughout the play, Shakespeare shows us through Macbeth, the possibility for ambition to eventually turn into greed and how the lust for power may corrupt us.
Macbeth Essay The play Macbeth by Shakespeare is about the journey of a man named Macbeth doing whatever he can to get power. Throughout the play Macbeth does ruthless things just to get closer to becoming king. Macbeth starts out as a kind man who fought for his king and was loyal.
All human beings are greedy and wants to have everything to for themselves, when you are so close in achieving your greatest wish, but an obstacle or in this case in ‘Macbeth” a person (Malcolm) is in your way and prevents you from getting what you want. Like any human being, you would think of a way to get there even if it means killing someone. In “Macbeth" it is clear at the beginning of the play that Macbeth greatest ambition is to one day become King of Scotland. In Act 1, Scene 4, Line 52, the sentence “Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires”. This line showcases Macbeth’s greed and his true intentions that no one knows in gaining power to be kept a secret from people.
Greed for power has always been evil and even made a saint turn into a demon. As the quote goes “All power tends to corrupt and an absolute power corrupts absolutely” (unquote), which is true not only in the fictitious stories but also in real life and Shakespeare, th9e greatest writer ever known, has always been in habit of making fictitious character come alive and Macbeth is no exception to the rule. The character of Macbeth has two sides, one which is wholesome while other been dubious. He symbolized great ambition but went overboard and in the process not only became corrupt but also became a killer. Macbeth reflects great strength but within he has his own weakness and thus good over took evil resulting in its downfall and finally his own death.
In the play, Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, Macbeth can be related to modern day problems. One of the problems present in Macbeth is selfish desires that humans have. While every human can be selfish, Macbeth takes his selfish desires to a whole other level. His selfishness was not created by only himself, but the people around him. Selfish desires can take over a person’s true self, cause them to be someone they are not, and commit acts they would not normally do.
First, Macbeth receives a prophecy that he will become the king of Scotland. He then decides to talk to his wife. His wife urges him to kill his beloved king to steal the crown and become king. Macbeth says how he feels wrong about doing this deed and his wife calls him out on that. She says that he is a wimp she could do it but Duncan reminds her of her beloved father.
Greed for power leads corrupt leaders to pursue power through ruthless and violent ways, putting their countries in an unstable state. Macbeth commits murders and violent acts to earn his absolute power, but his corrupt mindset of yearning power leads to instability in the Scotland. After hearing from the witches, Macbeth admits that, “My thought, whose murder yet is but fantastical/ Shakes so my single state of man/ That function is smother'd in surmise /and nothing is but what is not.”
It all started when Macbeth received a prophecy from the three witches saying that he would be made Thane of Cawdor and King of Scotland. Later, on he had dinner with King Duncan at his castle and that same night he writes to Lady Macbeth to tell her all that has happened. After telling his wife all that has happened, she tries to persuade him into killing the King. Their plan was to get the guards really drunk so that they blacked out and wouldn’t remember anything and then go in for the kill. While the king is asleep, Macbeth sneaks into the king’s room and stabs him, despite all the blood on the dagger and his hands and all the consequences that would come with it.

Shakespeare employs many themes into his work such as greed, power, control, fate, and loyalty; however, one theme that is prevalent to Shakespeare's audience is violence. Macbeth is a play that is written by William Shakespeare in 1606 and the main goal is to make the audience members or readers think that excessive ambition will have horrible consequences in the end. Over the course of the book Macbeth receives prophecies from multiple people, his wife tries to make him something that he is not, by getting him to kill anyone that she wants him to. Throughout the book the main character Macbeth drastically changes from being brave to being cowardly. He also changes from being loving to being greedy, and last he changes from being very trustworthy to being very untrustworthy. As a thane of Scotland, Macbeth loves and serves King Duncan even if it means his own death.
Lady Macbeth encourages Macbeth to kill Duncan, being more heartless than Macbeth. Macbeth kills Duncan to become king and is consumed with guilt. Shortly after the killing, he claims that he heard a voice tell him to "sleep no more” and that he "[murders]" "innocent sleep" (2.2.47-48). Macbeth is having internal struggles, not being able to sleep because of the guilty voices that engulf his mind. The innocence that he once had is gone, making him unable to sleep.
