Greek Gods There's complications from powers, family drama, and what they represent. Afterall Zeus, Athena, and Ares three Greek gods intertwine in a way. Zeus, a supreme ruler, god of weather, unwanted by Kronos (father), bad at love, but with a big family. He is one to rule over all, and have his way. Zeus himself tells his family, ¨ I am mightiest of all. You can not drag down Zeus¨ (Hamilton 21). He is the god of weather; comes with thunder and lightning. He will strike down on whomever crosses his way and disobeys him (Graf 9,952). The parents of Zeus were Cronus and Rhea. Kronos deposed (removed from office) his own father, Uranus. Athena had no pleasure in the golden Aphrodite. She did delight in war and works of Ares (Downing 586). Athena's main weapon is the aegis ( goatskin). On the aegis she wears the petrifying head of the gorgons. ¨When she raises it, panic overtakes enemies¨ (Downing 586). Her story about her birth is the reasoning of the strong relationship between Zeus and Athena. ¨Her centrality in the Greek pantheon is expressed by her closeness to Zeus¨ (Downing 586). Athena was Zeus's favorite child. He trusted her with his most valuable items (Hamilton 24). Athena may have been the goddess of war, fearless, nit she was caring for her cities. Her central concern is the wellbeing of the community. ¨As Aelius Aristides puts it, ¨Cities are the gifts of Athena¨ ¨ (Downing 587). He, son of Zeus (God of war) and Hera. ¨He had no cities where he was worshiped¨ (Hamilton 293). Ares was not liked, the greeks said he came from home of a rude (Hamilton 293). S represented brutal battle-lust. Although, Athena, his half sister always beat Ares (¨Ares¨ 96). Ares was the god of war. Roman linked jom to Mars, their war god. Ares represented everything that was bad. Such as fierce and blood lust (¨Ares¨ 96).
