My assignment for the writing 101 group project was to present how to conduct an interview. The information for this presentation came from The Curious Researcher by Bruce Ballinger. My group consisted of five people, we all would present this topic together. Knowing that we had a big group for a relatively small presentation, we had to divide the groups roles up very evenly so everyone could participate. This was the first thing we did as a group.

Mexican Muralist Project I have selected Lázaro Cárdenas a mural painted by an unknown artist, Partition of Land by Diego Rivera and The Blood of the Revolutionary Martyrs Fertilizing the Earth by Diego Rivera These all show the changes that the Mexican Revolution brought to Mexico. The Lázaro Cárdenas painting represents Mexico reclaiming their oil. The painting by Diego Rivera was created in 1924 in Mexico. It represents how the land was redistributed back to the poor people of Mexico.
Diego Rivera is one of the most influential Mexican artist of the twentieth century, where his powerful and inspirational images became part of the collective language of Mexico, the dreams and spirit of the people. His work revolved around social inequality, Mexico’s rich history and the relationship between individuals and their indigenous roots. Rivera reintroduced fresco painting into modern art and architecture in the 1930’s, where his murals can be found on the walls of universities and public buildings throughout Mexico that vary from Mexico’s pre-Columbian origins, the Mexican Revolution and post-Revolutionary era from the 1920’s to 1935. He created many panoramic portrayals that reflected the daily lives and struggles of the working
MC Escher and Pablo Picasso both have some similarities, are also very different. Though they are from the same general era, the tone of their artwork, their drawing styles, and some of the types of media they used. Yes, both artists do have similarities, though their differences are more numerous. The first major difference is the tone of the two pieces of artwork.
Chicano art as 3 common themes - Immigration, geography and displacement. Taking an activist stance, artists illustrate the historical presence of Mexicans and native people in the Southwest, the abuse of undocumented immigrants, racial profiling, and the militarization of the border. “Many Chicano artists have focused on the dangers of the border, often using barbed wire as a direct metaphorical representation of the painful and contradictory experiences of Chicanos caught between two cultures”. Works of art that relate to what is happening at the time is a way for historical studies to shape the way people studying the time or events taken place. The Creation, by Diego Rivera painted over the span of a year. During which he was representing the religious and political views and outreach in the community. Another work by Rivera, Los Explotadores show the exploitations of government officials, the wealthy, and landowners and how they treat the poor and the indigenous people.
The Chicano Art Movement presents effort but Mexican American artist to demonstrate a specific aesthetic identity in the United States. Some of this artwork and the artists making Chicano art were heavily influenced by Chicano change (el movimiento) which started in the 1960’s. Chicano Art was influenced by post Mexican change ideologies and pre Columbian artwork, European art techniques and Mexican American cultural, political and social matters. This movement worked to defy and challenge prevalent societal norms and stereotypes for social independence and self discrimination. Some topics this changes focused on we’re awareness of corporate history and society improvement of land grants and equal opportunity for cultural mobility.

In this essay, I’m going to discuss the gender roles in the paintings of Dalí, in the film “Un Chien Andalou” by Buñuel and the poems of Federico García Lorca. Gender roles play a huge part within these works. All three of these artists had the ability to showcase something beautiful or majestic through disturbing and off putting imagery. This is what made their work so distinctive compared to many other artists during the surrealist period. The main things all of these artists have in common are their feelings and expressions of gender roles.

Never before was the definition of art and the understanding behind it ever been so important in the theoretical discourse which defined and developed art in an age where technological and political advancements contorted the world into a new order. New ideas regarding the nature of what exactly Art is, began to challenge the ideals and concepts of centuries of art theory and practice, changing art and the idea of art at a staggering rate. “Visual Arts cultivate thinking, innovation and collaboration.” As I write this paper today, I realized how each of us analyse everything in our lives without even meaning to do so. The museum that I decided to visit virtually was the Offizi Gallery in Italy. Located in Florence, this gallery included numerous paintings, sculptures and ceramics. The art piece that I have decided to write an analysis on today is The Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli.
Mr. Marbert told the class that there would be a presentation that would be due at the end of the semester but that this presentation could be completed in groups. I was in a group with two other students and we chose to create an informative presentation about essential oils. The presentation was to be presented at the end of November to the class. Each group member chose a specific topic within essential oils and created PowerPoint slides to go along with their topic. The PowerPoint only had a few bullet points per slide and pictures to accompany each slide.
This research was carried out not to only show awareness toward the society but also why people should take art seriously. Often times, we can see lots of people debating whether art is important or not. This happened because the lack of exposure and knowledge that has been taught to them. Art can help to shape the society and affect the society to broaden their view of perspective in life by referring on the artworks because each work of art can give different meanings to life.
