My assignment for the writing 101 group project was to present how to conduct an interview. The information for this presentation came from The Curious Researcher by Bruce Ballinger. My group consisted of five people, we all would present this topic together. Knowing that we had a big group for a relatively small presentation, we had to divide the groups roles up very evenly so everyone could participate. This was the first thing we did as a group.

His work revolved around social inequality, Mexico’s rich history and the relationship between individuals and their indigenous roots. Rivera reintroduced fresco painting into modern art and architecture in the 1930’s, where his murals can be found on the walls of universities and public buildings throughout Mexico that vary from Mexico’s pre-Columbian origins, the Mexican Revolution and post-Revolutionary era from the 1920’s to 1935. This movement worked to defy and challenge prevalent societal norms and stereotypes for social independence and self discrimination. The Lázaro Cárdenas painting represents Mexico reclaiming their oil. The painting by Diego Rivera was created in 1924 in Mexico. In this essay, I’m going to discuss the gender roles in the paintings of Dalí, in the film “Un Chien Andalou” by Buñuel and the poems of Federico García Lorca. Gender roles play a huge part within these works. All three of these artists had the ability to showcase something beautiful or majestic through disturbing and off putting imagery. This is what made their work so distinctive compared to many other artists during the surrealist period. The main things all of these artists have in common are their feelings and expressions of gender roles.

Mr. Marbert told the class that there would be a presentation that would be due at the end of the semester but that this presentation could be completed in groups. I was in a group with two other students and we chose to create an informative presentation about essential oils. The presentation was to be presented at the end of November to the class. Each group member chose a specific topic within essential oils and created PowerPoint slides to go along with their topic. Slavery has been a problem that has lingered around since the beginning of time. Using other humans in inhumane ways for one's own benefit. Today alone, approximately 48 million people are enslaved, 7.5 million of them are children. Equally important, there are many topic points about slavery that need to be addressed for people's knowledge. These points include the problem with modern day slavery, why slavery continues, and how the world's ignorance about modern forms of slavery like human trafficking, human commodities, and forced labour is why slavery continues and is not yet stopped.
This research was carried out not to only show awareness toward the society but also why people should take art seriously. Often times, we can see lots of people debating whether art is important or not. This happened because the lack of exposure and knowledge that has been taught to them. Art can help to shape the society and affect the society to broaden their view of perspective in life by referring on the artworks because each work of art can give different meanings to life.
