The obvious claim in this advertisement is intimacy between a man and a woman. The ad suggests that rather than their connection, it is about a woman seeking to find herself through this perfume. The Gucci brand has developed a theme in their guilty perfume ad to meet the expectations of society to help create a greater image for their perfumes. Many men tend to come off as dominant towards women in a way that makes the male feel superior, like the women should bow down to them in some ways; this ad shows the opposite of this. In this ad, the woman clearly has power over the male when wearing this perfume; she is the alpha. Women often feel in relationships they are not as good as the opposite sex and their insecurities make them feel less powerful and taken advantage of. The way this ad is laid out and has the woman positioned, the way she gleams at the camera giving the image power, enhances her beauty and overall influencing young women.
