The gun control laws in Oregon and California are vastly different where one state is stricter than the other state. There are certain types of guns illegal to possess in both states and the waiting period and limit on who owns a gun that require people to meet. Also California doesn’t allow open gun whereas Oregon allow. There will be consequence served if the laws are abused. First of all, California has more illegal guns that can’t be possess by anyone or the military.
Once the back ground check is complete there is a five day waiting period, but in some cases there are exceptions. Once the five day waiting period is up as long as the purchaser has a background free of any felony charges then the purchase can be made. With the enormous amount of attention given by the media guns are constantly in the spotlight, and never for the right reasons. Bad news sells, and business is good for the mainstream media outlets. Many politicians, and understandably the families of victims of gun related crimes, are calling for changes to laws pertaining to gun control. They’re requesting that background checks be more thorough, and that ammunition be more difficult to obtain, among many other things. I believe that there should be small changes to gun control policy, but that there are no drastic measures needed to be taken.

We are long past the days when farmers left the fields to become de facto soldiers, or when posses were rounded up to chase outlaws, or when settlers were on their own in a hostile environment. The topic of gun control and firearm regulation has been subject to heated debate for a long while. Both sides have potent arguments, however the core of this issue ultimately boils down to the constitution itself. More specifically the second amendment. This argument quickly becomes quite complicated because gun control and firearm regulation concerns not only the right of citizens, but more importantly the safety of citizens. The second amendment helps to guarantee an imperative right belonging to all citizens.
Advocates of each side of the gun control debate have been around ever since the Second Amendment was ratified in 1791. In recent years the debate has gained more followers and has gotten much more heated. Each side has valid points and ideas that they would like to see incorporated into a new form of gun control or lack thereof. The Second Amendment to the US Constitution is necessary because people should have the right to keep and bear arms to protect themselves. However necessary the Second amendment is, to protect American citizens from gun violence, gun control needs to be improved.

Both sides have strong point, however, the safety of our children comes first, and a firearm means death in the wrong hands.
People of the US live in a great place, but within this beautiful country, there are many problems dealing with people arguing whether gun control should be put into effect. The two sides argue over whether the constitution says guns should be allowed since it is in the constitution while other tends to say that it does not say that guns are allowed. James Madison said that the United States should not worry about the government being to the point where citizens need to arm themselves. For many years this has been an issue. Dating back to John Locke being a start to people who want guns to be free.
Anybody of age can go to a gun show or online to purchase any firearm. If background checks, and polygraph test, then we can decrease gun violence. There may also be ways to make guns less dangerous to store. New technology in "smart guns" recognizes the owners ' fingerprints or hand grip or has other features controlled by the owner, so firearms can 't be stolen or accidentally fired by a child. Those guns are not currently mass-produced in the U.S., a recent "60 Minutes" report found, in part because of fears that they might lead to greater gun control.
Gun control is a topic that has been debated over the last few years. It is a subject that many people stand for and against the change in policy. Basically gun control would change the way firearms are regulated, by changing laws or polices that control how they are made, sold, owned, and used by civilians. However by trying to take away firearms from civilians would be infringing upon their rights as United States citizens. There are many ethical reasons why gun control should not be implemented towards law-abiding citizens such as it is hypocritical, neglects the reality of control, and is discriminating against gun owners.
There are many opinions on gun control and gun control safety issues. Laws vary between government and states. There are some states that require a resident to register all firearms while other states prohibit the registration of firearms. What should be allowed or not allowed is not the people’s choice, rather, it’s the government that is in control. For example, some states allow a person to openly carry a firearm while other states allow carrying a concealed weapon.
